Kaye Blankenship

Kaye first discovered her love of theater after reluctantly attending a drama club meeting at her high school in Sammamish, Washington. After false starting down the path of an actor, she discovered she was better suited to design and stage management, which led her to the Theatre department at Lewis & Clark College. She graduated in 2012 with an honors degree in theatre, after which she dove headfirst into the inaugural year of the Third Rail Mentorship Program. Since graduating she has left stage management behind and focuses on scenic, lighting, and properties design. Over the past years she has worked with the likes of Portland Playhouse, Profile Theatre, Theatre Vertigo, Anon It Moves, Oregon Children’s Theatre, and of course Third Rail, which she official joined in July of 2014. Kaye is also a founding member of String House Theatre, which is dedicated to new, experiential works by young artists. Past String House projects include staged readings, performance art, and full fledged productions. Kaye couldn’t be more excited to live in this thriving theatre town, especially when it means she gets to collaborate with so many talented artists and organizations. The fact that she can call Third Rail home is just the icing on the cake.
