The Lying Kind

Fasten your sleigh bells! In The Lying Kind, Anthony Neilson takes classic British farce and twists it, hard.

It's Christmas Eve in London, and two hapless policemen must deliver tragic news to an elderly couple. When they try to hide the truth, the consequences are immediate, dire, and side-splitting.

With flirty septuagenarians, fearsome vigilantes, misplaced chihuahuas, stodgy vicars and, of course, naughty underwear, it's the perfect Third Rail Christmas offering.

Reviews:

"It's truly an impressive performance, one that does full justice to Neilson's gleefully morbid script." - Portland Mercury

"[Neilson's] madcap shaggy dog story (the dog being, in this instance, a corpse) is a refreshingly cynical antidote to the season's schmaltz." - Willamette Week

"It's the kind of show Third Rail Repertory Theatre excels at -- a fast-paced comedy with plenty of physical action and British Isles accents." - OregonLive.com
