Do It in 2010: Acting Class with Third Rail's Tim True
A new year is just around the corner, and with it the opportunity to finally stop deferring your dreams of being an actor. This January, Third Rail member Tim True will once again be offering an acting class tailored specifically for beginners. You've waited long enough. In 2010, really do it! Find out what it's like to be "up there."


This 8-week class is intended for adults who have little or no experience in acting, but love the theatre and want to have a good time exploring acting through exercises, games, and a little scene study.
The Details
Dates: Saturdays from January 30 through March 20, 2010.
Hours: 10am - 12pm.
Where: Third Rail's rehearsal space, 2020 SE 7th Ave.
Cost: $350.00. (A nonrefundable deposit of $100.00, which will go toward tuition, is required to secure a spot in the class. The remaining $250.00 will be due on January 30 at the beginning of class.)
Class size is limited to 16, so that all will get plenty of individual attention.

Tim True is a professional stage actor who has lived in Portland for the last seven years. He has performed in scores of productions both in and out of town. Last summer, Tim played Mitch in the Intiman production of A Streetcar Named Desire in Seattle. Most Recently, Tim played Arthur in Third Rail's hit show, Fabuloso. His performance in Third Rail's The Lonesome West won him a Drammy Award for Outstanding Actor in a Lead Role. Tim is a founding member of Third Rail Repertory Theatre and has performed on numerous occasions with Artists Repertory Theatre and Portland Center Stage, in such shows as Tennessee Williams' Night of the Iguana and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Regionally, he has performed with The Oregon Shakespeare Festival, The Actor's Theatre of Louisville, The Utah Shakespearean Festival, San Jose Repertory Theatre, and The Idaho Shakespeare Festival, among others.
Tim taught acting at Cornell University (1999-2001) and Willamette University (2004), as well as with the education programs of many of Portland's theatre companies (ART, PCS, The Haven Project). He holds an MFA from The Alabama Shakespeare Festival/University of Alabama and is a member of Actor's Equity (the stage actors' union) and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists.
