You Can't Buy This Kind of Publicity

Portland Monthly's August issue features "The Best of the City '07," and we're proud to say that Third Rail got their vote as best theatre ensemble. Read all about it on page 73. We especially liked the bit about the "top-tier actors." Aw, shucks.

Company Members Keeping Busy

The muse doesn't take summers off, folks, and we her slaves have been answering her call. Damon wins: he helped make a baby! Slayden, Steph, and John worked on a reading at the JAW/West festival. Tim and Mike are deep in rehearsals for "House" and "Garden" at ART. Gretchen's been writing SO MANY grants (the muse must be paid!). Jen slaved to get the new Third Rail web site up and running (take a look, it's gorgeous!). Cassie's been busy working on "TinStar," a feature length HD movie being shot on location all over Oregon. Val's been winging back and forth to NYC's Public Theatre to workshop a new play based on writings of Sam Shepard.

"Grace" Rehearsals to Begin Soon

Damon and Steph, joined by Doug Mace and Leif Norby, will soon be facing off in our rehearsal studio, bringing Craig Wright's "Grace" to life. This will be our third play by Craig, whose "Recent Tragic Events" put Third Rail on the Portland cultural map. We'll have more news about "Grace" as rehearsals progress.

Subscriptions Going Fast!

Despite our wild-ride theatrics, when it comes to things like budgets and projections we tend to be pretty conservative. So imagine our delight when subscriptions for our first season were more than twice what we had hoped! Now, virtually all those first-season subscribers have re-upped, joined by nearly as many "newbies." If you're among this crowd, we look forward to seeing you. Why not invite two friends to subscribe as well?
