Third Rail Introduces Its Newest Member
Third Rail is proud to announce that Gretchen Corbett, whose riveting performance in "A Lesson From Aloes" was recognized with a Drammy award (not her first, by the way), has accepted our invitation to join the company.
How to introduce Gretchen? Her experience as a performer defies quick summarization. Suffice it to say that the lady has a resume that most performers only dream of. Broadway. Hollywood. Some of America's best-known regional playhouses. She's been there.
Many of us at Third Rail first got to know Gretchen while she was running the much-loved (and much-missed) Haven Project, the theatre program for underserved Portland kids. We played apples in Haven Project plays, not to mention baobabs, cyclones, and dust bunnies.
Gretchen's years at the Haven Project (which paid all its artists for their work) translate into a wealth of experience in the nonprofit world that is already having a huge impact on Third Rail's growth.
Lucky us! She brought all that talent and experience to Third Rail. Lucky Gretchen! She has a new home with one of Portland's most exciting arts organizations. Lucky you! You get to look forward to seeing more of this dynamite actress.
