A Fistful of Drammys for Third Rail!
If you needed any more reasons to subscribe to Third Rail Repertory, well we've got six of 'em. At last Monday's Drammy ceremony, Third Rail was recognized with six awards for outstanding achievements in theatre. The company was recognized for the following categories:

Original Play, to Ebbe Roe Smith for "Number Three," Smith's brightly dark recollection of 1950s America (a shout out to Portland Center Stage for their development of this great script!).

Lighting Design, to Don Crossley for his gorgeous, painterly lighting of "A Lesson From Aloes."

Scenic Design, to Curt Enderle for his skillful evocation of both open veld and confining space, again for "Aloes."

Sound Design, to Jen Raynak for her time-travelling aural rollercoster and 80s pop-fest scoring of "The Pavilion."

Performance by an Actress in a Lead Role, to Gretchen Corbett for her heartbreaking portrayal of a fragile woman pushed beyond endurance in "Aloes."

Direction, to (who else?) Slayden Scott Yarbrough for his storytelling skill and attention to detail, for "Aloes." This is what they call a "threepeat" for Slayden, who has become the Michael Jordan of Portland theatre.

Every production of Third Rail's inaugural season was recognized with an award, which makes us so proud. Our heartfelt thanks to the Drammy committee for this honor.
