Third Rail Plans a Big Move!
The rumor mill has been churning (thanks mostly to our own wagging tongues), so we at Third Rail want to take this opportunity to make the news official.
Our audiences have grown to the point where we're regularly selling out performances, with plenty of people still clamoring for tickets. So, beginning with the 2008-2009 season, Third Rail will be moving from the cozy IFCC to a brand new home in glamorous downtown Portland. Let's take a little trip there right now with our own Val Stevens and Mike O'Connell, shall we?
Ah, the downtown riverfront! So picturesque, with the languid Willamette to the east and all those magnificent skyscrapers to the west. And here, between Taylor and Salmon Streets, near the foot of the Hawthorne Bridge, is a Portland architectural landmark called the World Trade Center.
You know the place, right? That complex of buildings with the nifty glass catwalk that makes you think of "futuristic" movies from the 1970s? Did you know that tucked inside WTC 2 is a great little theatre space? Well there is, and we're setting up shop there this fall!

Now perhaps some of you are worried. "Oh my," you think, "Are we going to lose that intimacy with the actors that has made Third Rail performances at the IFCC so compelling?" Not a bit!
As you can see here with Val's help, the WTC is only 10 rows deep -- the same number of rows as at the IFCC. But the wider auditorium means we'll be able to seat more than twice our current capacity.

Each of these plush, comfortable seats has a unique numerical identifier. We'll be using these for our subscribers in the coming season. That's right, assigned seating. Just another revolutionary concept brought to you by the trailblazers at Third Rail.
And bonus! Each seat comes equipped with its own writing table! Don't worry, there won't be tests after performances.
Just to be clear, the final production of this season, "Nobody Here But Us Chickens," will be peformed at the IFCC on North Interstate. We'll have more news soon about that outrageous comedy, which opens April 25.
It's an exciting time for Third Rail, due entirely to your enthusiastic support of our efforts. We'll have more news in the coming months about the move downtown and our 2008-2009 season. For now, feel free to spread the word to your friends that, starting this fall, even more of them will be able to share the Third Rail experience!
