 | Slayden Scott Yarbrough
Scott earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Theater from
Oklahoma Baptist University and a Master of
Arts in Theater History, Criticism and Dramatic Literature from
Louisiana State University. He also
earned a Master of Fine Arts degree from
Ohio University's Professional Director Training Program.
Scott served as assistant to the artistic director at the Monomoy Theatre
and the Contemporary American
Theatre Festival, and assisted on more than 20 regional productions. He was an associate producer on the
Off-Broadway production of Fool For Love and a press assistant for numerous Broadway and Off-Broadway
productions. He also served as Director of Education for the Contemporary
American Theatre Festival as
well as a Guest Artist at Shepherd College. Locally, he has worked
with The Haven Project, Portland Center
Stage's Visions and Voices and Promising Playwrights (JAW/West) programs and has taught at
Portland Actors
Conservatory.
Directing credits with Third Rail: Grace, A Lesson From Aloes,
Number Three, The Pavilion,
The Lonesome West (Drammy Awards:
Outstanding Direction and Production), Dirty Story,
Recent Tragic Events (Drammy Awards:
Outstanding Direction and Production). Other directing
credits: Red Noses, Coyote Ugly (2 productions), Lone Star, Laundry and Bourbon,
Pvt. Wars, Italian American Reconciliation, Landscape of the Body, The Road to
Mecca, Found A Peanut, The Ghost Train, The Farce of Scapin, She Stoops to
Conquer, and The 15-minute Hamlet.
Scott will also direct Shining City and Nobody Here But Us Chickens for Third
Rail this season.
