Season 1
2006-2007
The Pavilion
by Craig Wright
Set in a dance hall in small-town Minnesota, a twenty-year high school reunion provides the backdrop for Wright’s cosmic distillation of time, choice and irrevocability. When the “Cutest Senior Couple” of 1986 meets on the dance floor, will their flame be rekindled or will their history tear them to pieces?

Number Three
by Ebbe Roe Smith
Third Rail is proud to present this world premiere by local playwright Ebbe Roe Smith. In this hilariously skewed comedy of domestic dysfunction, traditional 1950s family values are shaken up and thrown at the wall as three children (played by adults) struggle to survive their upbringing.

A Lesson from Aloes
by Athol Fugard
Set in apartheid-era South Africa, A Lesson from Aloes shows how a nation’s ideology creates an atmosphere that is either nurturing or poisonous. At what point does personal survival outweigh social justice? What happens to a friendship undermined by fear and paranoia? What can be done when mere existence is considered an act of treason?
