NT Live in January

Two great plays from National Theatre Live

JOHN

Saturday, January 31 @ 2pm & 7pm

Internationally renowned DV8 Physical Theatre brings their powerful new production to the National Theatre. DV8 Physical Theatre has produced 18 highly acclaimed dance-theatre works and four films for television, which have garnered over 50 national and international awards.

The company’s new production, JOHN, authentically depicts real-life stories, combining movement and spoken word to create an intense and moving theatrical experience. Lloyd Newson, DV8’s Artistic Director, interviewed more than 50 men asking them frank questions, initially about love and sex. One of those men was John.

What emerged was a story that is both extraordinary and touching. Years of crime, drug use and struggling to survive lead John on a search in which his life converges with others, in an unexpected place, unknown by most.

Don’t miss this eagerly anticipated new production, broadcast live from the National Theatre.

NOTE: JOHN contains adult themes, strong language and nudity. Suitable for 18yrs+.

Treasure Island

Robert Louis Stevenson’s story of murder, money and mutiny is brought to life in a thrilling new stage adaptation by Bryony Lavery, broadcast live from the National Theatre.

It’s a dark, stormy night. The stars are out. Jim, the inn-keeper’s granddaughter, opens the door to a terrifying stranger. At the old sailor’s feet sits a huge sea-chest, full of secrets. Jim invites him in – and her dangerous voyage begins.

Third Rail: Loose in London Returns

March 8-15, 2015
We're heading back to Theatreland and we want you with us!

Our annual Third Rail: Loose In London Tour has quickly become one of our most successful and popular programs, and we’re pleased to announce dates and registration for our 2015 excursion. If history is any  indication, this trip will fill up very quickly and, as always, space will be limited to a maximum of 20 participants in order to make the trip as intimate and personal an experience as possible.

The tour is catered toward the restless “theatre junkies” out there (you know who you are); the ones who need a fix of new plays, major revivals, performances that make you sweaty and nervous (in all the best ways), and experiences to make your heart pound and your breath quicken. We’re ready to be your theatre pusher, your peddler, your candy man. We’ll finalize the details of the itinerary in December, but to whet your appetite, here’s a little taste of what we’re considering:

The World Premiere of David Hare‘s newest play; a controversial new collaboration by the Royal Court and Headlong; the newest offering at the Donmar Warehouse; and performances by James McAvoy, Rufus Sewell, and a host of other heavy hitters of the British stage.

No matter the plays, you can rest assured we’ll line up a wide variety of experiences that will give you plenty to enjoy and even more to talk about.

Remember: space is limited to the first 20 patrons; so don’t miss out on this incredible opportunity to join Artistic Director Scott Yarbrough and Company Member Maureen Porter for this one-of-a-kind

Register here…THIRD RAIL: LOOSE IN LONDON REGISTRATION

Registration Deadline: December 30, 2014
